Acorn Stair Lifts help individuals who have trouble getting up and down stairs. This brand is known for its ease of use, clear control panel and safety features. Even if the power in a home is disrupted, the Acorn Stair Lift is designed to run on its own power so the stair lift service will not be interrupted.

Make sure the chair is turned forward and that the safety arm is not in the upright position. The control panel will display the number four to indicate this error. The seat must be turned forward and the safety arm must be down to operate the Acorn Stair lift unit.

Check the remote start if the unit stops during usage. Sometimes outside radio signals can interfere with the operation of stair units. As a safety precaution, the stair lift has been designed to stop if this happens. Simply flip the toggle switch and the unit should continue operating.

Return the seat from the 45- or 90-degree-angle position to the travel position or the unit will not operate. The control panel will read error four.

Recharge the battery of the stair lift by parking the chair at the correct upper and lower endpoint. If the chair does not connect with the recharger, the unit will be drained of power and will not operate.

Examine additional error-display-code information in the product manual. This manual can be found in the Reference section below.

Clean the track on a regular basis to prevent dirt and grime from interfering with the unit's performance.

Reset the unit fault codes to standard operation by shutting the power off for about thirty seconds.

Tips & Warnings

  • Acorn Stair Lifts are powered by their own battery pack, so there is no risk of electric shock. For safety reasons, the stairway should be free of other people and cleared of objects when the lift is operating.
  • The lift is only designed to carry one person at a time. Pets and small children should be kept at a distance when the stair lift is in use. Loose clothing or jewelry should be tucked in when using the stair lift to avoid injury. Small objects can fall into the stair-lift mechanism and damage the machine.
