How to Convert a PDF File to AutoCAD for Free

      Launch your web browser if it is not already running.

      Go to the CNET Download Center website (see Resources). Download and install VectorEngineer Quick-Tools to your computer. This is a freeware program, so you do not have to pay for it.

      Start VectorEngineer Quick-Tools. Click "File" and select "Open" to open your PDF drawing file in VectorEngineer Quick-Tools.

      Verify that the open PDF file is the correct file that you want to convert to AutoCAD. Make any changes that you need to, as VectorEngineer Quick-Tools is a drawing program.

      Click the "File" menu and select "Save As." When the Save As dialog box appears, you will want to click on the drop-down menu by file format to save the PDF as an AutoCAD file. Once you do this, click "Save" and you will have converted your PDF to AutoCAD.

    Tried your method, but it doesn't work, because VectorEngineer Quick-Tools won't allow me to open a PDF file. In fact, it appears the only thing that will open is a .VEC file, which is their own format. I also tried putting the image onto the clipboard and pasting into VectorEngineer Quick-Tools, but that didn't work either. Tim
