The liver has a very important job in the body. It cleans out toxins, fats, cholesterol, and gall stones and does not allow these things to pass. However, the liver could use some help, and a detox with tea can help cleanse the liver. After cleansing you will feel healthier, have more energy, and your liver will be refreshed.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill your teapot with cold purified or distilled water and set it on the stove. Add one tablespoon of dry tea leaves (liver detox tea leaves, available in health food stores). Allow the water to boil for at least fifteen minutes. Turn the heat off, cover and allow the tea to soak overnight or for eight hours.

    • 2

Turn the heat back on in the morning or after eight hours of soaking. Bring it back to a boil. After it reaches a boil turn the heat on low and allow it to simmer for twenty minutes. This will ensure the tea's nutrients are extracted from the leaves and infused in the water. The antioxidants are important for detoxing the liver.

    • 3

Put an empty saucepan (large enough to hold the tea) into the sink. Put a strainer on top of the saucepan and pour the tea into the strainer. All of the leaves should stay in the strainer while the tea reaches the saucepan. Rinse the teapot thoroughly and pour the strained tea back inside the teapot. The tea can be stored in your fridge for daily use.

    • 4

Drink the tea you have made to detox your liver. You will need to drink two 8 ounce cups of tea every day, one cup in the morning and one at night. You will need to do this for thirty to ninety days. Detox your liver with tea for ninety days if this is your first time trying this, or for the best results.

    • 5

Make the tea stronger when the first batch is gone. Use the same steps as before, but add two tablespoons of dry tea leaves instead of just one. This will detox the liver better with more antioxidants without making you nauseous. You can keep making the tea stronger if you can handle it.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a better cleanse, avoid caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, and other toxins.

  • Read and follow specific directions on the container of the detox tea you select, which may vary from this general protocol.
