Truffle oil is a high-quality olive oil infused with either black or white truffles, and imparts a burst of gourmet flavor. A little goes a long way--use truffle oil sparingly so it doesn't overpower your dish.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Black or white truffle oil Various dishes, depending on your taste
  1. Step 1

Drizzle truffle oil on just about any gourmet dish. Black truffle oil has an earthy flavor; white truffle oil has a peppery taste.

  2. Step 2

Fry skinless chicken breasts in truffle oil for a strong, earthy flavor. (If the flavor is overpowering, just drizzle the oil over the chicken instead.) Black truffle oil is best suited for dishes such as risotto, scrambled eggs, filet mignon, asparagus, cream soups or pasta. White truffle oil can be drizzled on green salad, sauteed mushrooms or pasta. Truffle oil is also delicious drizzled on top of mashed potatoes, pizza or bread.

  3. Step 3

Use truffle oil to make vinaigrette dressing for a different twist on an ordinary salad.

  4. Step 4

Experiment. There's no right or wrong way to use truffle oil--it's all a matter of what suits your taste. You might even try some on popcorn.
