Place the highlighting cap on your head. Ensure the string is tied securely under your chin and the cap has no wiggle room.

Using the pull tool, pull hair through the cap. For larger chunks of highlighted hair, pull thicker strands through the holes. For more subtle highlights, pull thin strands of hair through every other hole.

Apply the color remover to hair and allow to process on hair for a few minutes, per the instructions with your respective remover. When it has been working on your hair long enough, the hair color will resemble peanut butter. Don't be alarmed! This is normal.

Keep the cap on and rinse all traces of remover formula from your hair. Towel-dry your hair.

Mix highlight dye and apply to the towel-dried hair that has been pulled through the cap. Leave on hair for the period of time instructed by the dye manufacturer. Rinse off and apply a deep conditioning product. Style as normal.
