How to Make Feta Cheese Appetizers

Feta cheese is a traditional Greek cheese that has a tangy and salty taste. It is a great combination with fresh tomatoes which is showcased in this appetizer recipe using Roma tomatoes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Roma tomatoes Italian salad dressing, 2 tablespoons Shrimp, 1 cup cooked and chopped Green onions, 1/4 cup chopped Fresh oregano, 1/4 cup, chopped. Reserve 2 tablespoons. Feta cheese, 1/2 cup, crumbled Italian bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Small spoon Sharp knife Broiler pan
  1. Step 1

    Cut the tomatoes in half, crosswise. Scoop out the pulp and reserve.

  2. Step 2

    Broil tomatoes on high for 3 minutes. Remove from broiler and set aside.

  3. Step 3

    Pour Italian salad dressing in a small saucepan and heat until it begins to boil. Add shrimp to the dressing and cook on medium heat until the shrimp are pink.

  4. Step 4

    Add reserved tomato pulp and green onions. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the feta cheese and bread crumbs. Mix well.

  6. Step 6

    Fill each tomato skin with stuffing and garnish with reserved oregano.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do not have a broiler setting on your oven, simply bake the tomato skins at 400 degrees for at least 5 minutes or until they begin to wilt.
