Things You'll Need:
- Change in diet Benzoyl peroxide skin products Oatmeal Organic apple cider vinegar Calcarea sulphirica
-
Step 1
Revamp your diet. Some foods may trigger acne, such as junk food, fast food, oily food, spicy food, corn, lentils, products with refined flour and dairy products. These should generally be avoided, as long as your acne persists. To help clear up your acne, start eating foods like lemons, oranges, apples, pineapple, pumpkin seeds, Brazil nuts and green, leafy vegetables. Drink plenty of water, too, in order to keep your skin sufficiently hydrated.
-
Step 2
Use ointments, creams and lotions that have benzoyl peroxide in them. These can easily be purchased over-the-counter. Some examples of products that include benzoyl peroxide are Exposed Acne Treatment and Clearasil. Use caution when going out in the sun if you are using skin products with benzoyl peroxide, since you could experience a negative reaction.
-
Step 3
Take the oatmeal approach. Cook plain oatmeal and, after it has cooled, put it on your face where your acne breakout is. Leave it on no longer than 18 minutes, and then wash it off thoroughly. Do this just before you go to bed at night and continue the routine until you see an improvement in your skin.
-
Step 4
Consider using apple cider vinegar once a day. The astringent properties of apple cider vinegar can be helpful in getting rid of skin problems, such as acne. Saturate a sterile cotton ball in the apple cider vinegar and apply it to the areas where acne occurs. It may sting a little. If you find it too strong, dilute it with a little water before applying. The best apple cider vinegar to use is an organic kind, not the type typically found at grocery stores. You can find organic apple cider at health food stores or at grocery chains, such as Whole Foods.

Step 5
Find out if Calcarea sulphirica can help get rid of your acne. This is a homeopathic remedy that is sometimes used to treat acne. You can find this remedy at some health food stores, or you can go to a homeopathic practitioner in your area for further information.
