How to Restore an Engine with Additive

A fuel additive is an alcohol-based substance that helps clean internal engine and engine-related components. Because some additives can mix or "bond" with water, they are used to clean out any condensation in the fuel tank. However, many fuel additives are designed to clean and restore an engine by removing carbon deposits and debris that has built up around the fuel injectors and valves.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the gas tank door on your vehicle and pour in the entire bottle of fuel additive. Make sure you are adding the fuel additive immediately after filling the tank.

    • 2

Run your vehicle until the gas tank is near empty.

    • 3

Refill the tank with another bottle of fuel additive immediately after you fill the tank.

    • 4

Repeat steps 1 to 3 every week.

    • 5

Open the oil filler cap on the top of the engine.

    • 6

Pour in one can of Engine Restore brand oil additive. Make sure that you are not overfilling the engine oil. Prior to adding Engine Restore oil additive, you may want to check the oil level by pulling out the oil level dipstick, wiping it off with a rag, replacing the oil dipstick and then pulling the dipstick back out again. Check the oil level. It should be between the two marks on the very end (tip) of the dip stick. If the oil level is at or near the upper mark, do not add the Engine Restore oil additive until your next oil change (make sure whoever changes your oil reduces the amount of normal oil added when refilling by 1/2 quart).
