Often, eye glasses aren't actually made of glass but plastic instead. Even glass lenses usually have a thin coating on them. Plastic and coated lenses can become permanently streaked if you don't wash them in the proper cleaner. You can make eye glass cleaner out of common household ingredients that works the same or better than the expensive store bought solutions. The cleaner can be used on glass and plastic lenses as well as sunglasses.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spray bottle Rubbing alcohol Dish detergent Soft cloth
  1. Step 1

Mix three parts rubbing alcohol with one part water and place in a spray bottle. Small, pocket-size mister bottles are available where cosmetics are sold.

  2. Step 2

Spray the both sides of one lens with the cleaning solution and wipe thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth. Repeat for the other lens.

  3. Step 3

Rub a small dab of liquid nonabrasive dish detergent onto each lens with a clean cloth. Wipe it off completely to leave your eye glasses fog-free.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never use paper towels or toilet paper to clean glasses, as these will scratch the surface.
