If you own a swimming pool you might be inundated with frogs getting into it at one time or the other. In most cases this will happen during the frogs mating season. Frogs are beneficial to our environment and to gardeners wishing to maintain a great looking landscape. Unfortunately, frogs are attracted to water. Though swimming pools are laced with chemicals, the frog doesn't know this so they figure they should just jump in.

Tips on Getting Rid of Frogs from Swimming Pools

  1. Step 1

Grab a net and first try removing your frogs from the pool by netting them. Relocate them to an area that isn't close to your pool or out of your yard completely.

  2. Step 2

Install some type of barrier around the pool area that is high enough that the frogs won't jump over and get into the pool. Use a fencing material of wire, wood or plastic to place around the exterior of the pool

  3. Step 3

Use pool chemicals in your pool to kill them, if you aren't doing so already.

  4. Step 4

Mix a solution of salt and water together and place it into a spray bottle. Spray the area where the frogs will have to touch to get to the pool. The saltwater will dry and then burn their feet and keep them off it.

  5. Step 5

Mix a 50/50 solution of bleach and water together and place inside of a spray bottle. Spray the area that you walk on with the solution to keep the frogs off it.

  6. Step 6

Place a cover over your pool when it isn't in use to keep the frogs from getting inside it.

  7. Step 7

Spray the frogs with an insecticide to kill them, as a last resort when nothing else has seemed to work.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful not to spray your plants with the bleach solution or you might kill them.
