How to Clean Glass Bowls
You have just picked some beautiful flowers and you reach into the cabinet to pull out a vase or bowl to place them in, only to find the beautiful glass is streaked and dirty. Solve this problem easily by cleaning your glass bowls before putting them away. Following is a tried, true and natural way to keep those glass bowls and vases sparkling. Does this Spark an idea?

- Vinegar Baking soda Boiling water Soft scrub pad Lint-free towel for drying

Pour 1/4 cup of baking soda into the bowl or vase. Amount of baking soda depends upon size of bowl or vase you are cleaning. A smaller bowl will take less, a larger may take more.

Pour 1/2 cup vinegar into the bowl. The baking soda and vinegar will react with each other and begin to bubble. Rotate the bowl and swish the solution around inside.

Slowly pour the boiling water into the bowl, making sure to rotate the bowl so that the water heats the glass as you are pouring it in. This will prevent the glass from breaking. Continue to add water until bowl or vase is full. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.

Pour half of the water out. Run the soft scrub sponge over the inside and outside of the bowl or vase, using the solution to clean it. Discard the solution and rinse the bowl.
Dry with lint free cloth and store until ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
This same solution works for ceramic cups and bowls as well. Before adding water, place the vinegar/baking soda solution on the kitchen sponge and gently scrub any stains. Allow to sit for 15 minutes, then add water.
Be sure to rotate the hot water throughout the bowl to heat the glass while you are pouring it.
