How to Resize XP Desktop Icons
You may like the icons on your Windows XP desktop to appear larger for easy viewing. Windows XP comes with a utility for resizing desktop icons, whether you'd like them to be larger or smaller. The process is quick and simple.

Right-click an empty area of your screen. Choose Properties on the menu that appears.

Click the Appearance tab when the dialogue window appears.

Click Effects under the Appearance tab.

Check the Use Large Icons box. You can toggle between large and small icons by checking and unchecking this box.

Click "OK" to save the settings and close the dialogue window. Your icons will appear as desired on the desktop.
