How to File for New York Unemployment
The state of New York provides unemployment insurance for qualified workers who lost their job. To qualify, you must have lost your job through no fault of your own, although you may qualify if you were fired for causes that did not amount to misconduct, or if you quit to avoid a hazardous or hostile work environment, or due to a change in your work conditions. You also must be ready willing and able to work.
