Tying a good fishing knot that will stay tied can be challenge. Here is a simple guide to tying a fisherman's knot that will keep your hook and consequently your fish in your possession.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fishing Line
  • A Fish Hook
  1. Step 1

Click on the image above for the clearest example of how to tie this knot.

Thread the fishing line through the hook. If you are new to fishing keep in mind that generally speaking fish can bite much larger hooks that one would expect, so don't make the mistake of using a hook that is to small and could slip out.

  2. Step 2

Begin wrapping the fishing line around itself while leaving the loop through which the hook is attached still open

  3. Step 3

After wrapping the line around itself about 5-8 times thread the end of the line back through the loop, and in doing this you will create another loop

Once again, if your having trouble click on the picture at the top of the article. It should help you out tremendously.

  4. Step 4

Lastly pull the end of the line through the loop you just created and tighten your knot. Good luck fishing :)
