It is recommended by many dentist that you replace your toothbrush every three to six months. At the time you are ready to begin using a new toothbrush your old one may still have some usefulness left, just not for use on your teeth. A toothbrush can reach into small spaces that many cleaning tools will not fit into. Before tossing your old toothbrush in the trash, use it in some of the following ways.

    An old toothbrush is handy for cleaning wooden doors or drawers with intricate wood design. It is a good size for gently brushing dust from the corners of wood or the small spaces in a detailed design.

    An old toothbrush makes a great tool for cleaning the vent on a blow dryer or the grate on the air conditioner or heat vent inside your home.

  3. Step 3

    It is easy to clean the dust from wicker baskets with an old toothbrush.

  4. Step 4

    An old toothbrush can serve as a jewelry brush. Wet the brush, apply soap to the brush and gently clean the jewelry.
