It isn't always convenient to run out and get a manicure. You may not have the time, money or the resources. You may not even have time to paint your nails and wait for them to dry. Dry nail appliques are a great solution to all of these issues.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A set of dry nail appliqués (like Incoco)
  • A nail file
  • A clear coat of nail polish
  1. Step 1

Purchase a set of dry nail appliques. These can easily be found at your local drug store. You can choose a color that you like or the French manicure set.

  2. Step 2

Wash your hands and make sure they are completely dry before beginning.

  3. Step 3

Begin by matching the size of your nail to the applique that fits best. It may take several tries to find the right fit. Also, as you move to the second hand, don't assume that both fingers (i.e. pinky) are the same size on both hands.

  4. Step 4

Peel the backing off of the applique that you have chosen and place it on your finger. Take your time and make sure that you place it carefully. Press softly to have the color stick. The warmth of your hand will cause the color to attach to the nail.

  5. Step 5

There will be excess color at the tip of your nail. Gently press the color over the tip of your nail until a crease forms. Using a fingernail file and a downward motion, go along the outside of the nail until the excess color comes off.

  6. Step 6

Press softly again around the outside edge of the nail. Continue to each nail on both hands.

  7. Step 7

Coat each nail with a thin layer of clear nail polish.

  8. Step 8

You are finished. You have given yourself a manicure using half the time and money it would have taken to get a manicure in a salon.
