The summer season is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors with your dog. Take advantage of the longer days and the beautiful weather and spend some extra time with your dog. Let your dog help you enjoy summer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you go on vacation, take your dog with you if your plans can accommodate a pet and if you will be able to spend time with your pet rather than leaving him in a kennel or crate while you are out and about having fun.

  2. Step 2

Take advantage of the cooler temperatures in the early morning or late evening hours and take your dog for a leisurely walk each day. While on your walk you might seek out a cool, shady spot to sit for a while with your dog and enjoy the sights and sounds of summer.

  3. Step 3

Engage in outdoor games such as fetch or Frisbee with your dog. Some dogs enjoy chasing bubbles and that can be quite entertaining for both of you.

  4. Step 4

Get a child's outdoor pool for your dog to play in if you have a dog that loves water.

  5. Step 5

Take your dog to an outdoor cafe to socialize with other dogs and dog owners.

  6. Step 6

Finally, give the following summertime recipe a try: you, your dog, a hot day, and a water hose....mix together...have fun

Tips & Warnings
  • Always take into consideration the tolerance level your dog has for high temperatures. Some dogs are much less heat tolerant than others. Do not exercise your dog during the hottest part of the day.
  • Be sure to supply your dog with fresh cool water during and after their fun time with you.
