Avoid Falling Victim To Airbag Fraud
Avoid Falling Victim To Airbag Fraud

Airbag fraud is becoming a larger and larger problem. Airbags can be very expensive to replace, so some body shops are installing used air bags(or nothing at all) and charging for a new air bag. There are ways you can avoid this very dangerous and rapidly growing trend.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step is to make sure that the body shop you have taken your car to is only ordering air bags from the manufacturer of your car. There are shops where they can buy these used, and they can be sold online, you never want to have these airbags put into your car.

  2. Step 2

The second step is to instruct the body shop to only use an air bag from the manufacturer of your car.

  3. Step 3

The third step is to inspect the air bag before they install it in your car. The box the airbag comes in needs to be sealed and be from the company that made your car. Check the box to make sure both of thee requirements are met.
