Things You'll Need:

  • 1 to 2 lbs. of pigs' feet
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 chunk of ginger, 3/4 inch long
  • 3 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/3 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  1. Step 1

    Wash pigs' feet and cover with cold water. Bring to boil and cook for 1 minute. Discard water and wash pigs' feet again.

  2. Step 2

    Pound the clove garlic and ginger with back of cleaver or wide knife. Discard clove garlic skin.

  3. Step 3

    Put all ingredients together in a clean pot. Bring to boil, turn heat down and simmer for 2 1/2 hours or until tender. Add more boiling water as needed. Serve. This recipe is good for a group of four people.

  4. Step 4

    If there are leftovers, seal the remaining portion in the refrigerator. It will taste just as good the next day or even more flavorful.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can serve it with steamed rice, Chinese broccoli, or noodles.
  • You can also top it off with hot tea and almond cookies for dessert.
  • Always keep an eye on the soup pot to be sure that you do not overcook it.
  • Pigs' feet is an acquired taste.
