Step 1
Make sure that you have re-scanned your converter box after the digital TV transition. Some channels have moved to different frequencies after the transition and your converter box will need to be re-programmed.
-
Step 2
If you are currently using an old outside VHF/UHF antenna you will want to replace it with an UHF antenna. There are also models with a built in amplifier that will boost the UHF signal.
-
Step 3
To receive digital broadcast from all directions, you can purchase an Omni-directional Digital antenna. This will pull in TV stations in a 360 degree radius as compared to a typical UHF antenna which is directional and receives fewer stations.
-
Step 4
Replace old outside antenna wire with RG6U which will give you the best signal-to-noise ratio(less noise higher signal level)
-
Step 5
If you are using an indoor ‘Rabbit Ear’ antenna, you will want to replace it with an indoor digital TV antenna; which is the same as an indoor UHF antenna. For additional signal boost, purchase one with a built in amplifier.
