Remove Red Wine Stains
Remove Red Wine Stains

Don't stop drinking red wine because you are worried about red wine stains. Red wine stains can be removed from most carpets if you do it correctly. Learn how now!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Blot the red wine stain with a paper towel or a clean cloth. Try to absorb as much of the red wine as possible. This will make removing the red wine stain easier.

  2. Step 2

Dilute one tablespoon of ammonia in one cup of warm water and place this into a spray bottle. Spray the red wine stain with your solution you made.

  3. Step 3

Let the solution sit for five to ten minutes on the red wine stain. Make sure that the stain is not spreading to other areas of the carpet if you placed too much solution on the stain. If it is, quickly blot up the new stains with a paper towel or clean cloth.

  4. Step 4

Use a clean cloth or a paper towel to blot up the red wine stain and your solution. The red wine stain should come out with the solution.

  5. Step 5

Continue to repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.
