If you are entertaining guests, or you just want to relax after a stressful day, put together a cheese platter, some fresh fruit, and a glass or two of your favorite refreshing beverage.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cheese
  • Fruit
  • Crackers or Bread
  • Nuts
  • Honey
  1. Step 1

Pick out an attractive dish to use as your cheese platter, and choose an odd number of cheeses. Odd numbers are more visually pleasing. Three different cheeses are about right for most people. Five tends to be the limit before everyone starts to feel a little overwhelmed.

  2. Step 2

When entertaining, figure on about 1.5 ounces per guest for the cheese platter. If you know that all of your guests are cheese lovers, you can go as high as 3 ounces per guest.

  3. Step 3

Arrange the cheeses with the rinds facing inwards. This gives you and your guests easier access to the cheese and makes the presentation of the cheese platter a bit more dramatic.

  4. Step 4

Fresh or dried fruit, nuts, honey, olives and mustard are a great accompaniment to any cheese platter. It will add some nice complimentary flavors to your favorite cheeses, and also makes for an elegant contrast on the plate.
