Things You'll Need:
- a waffle iron
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 sugar (white or brown)
- 4 tsps baking powder
- 1 stick soybean margarine
- 2-3 cups of water

Step 1
Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, (flour, baking powder, sugar). Then add all wet ingredients in a medium size bowl; start with two cups of water and then add the third if necessary. Make sure you melt the butter in the microwave before you mix it.

Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. The batter should be smooth. If you'd like to add something a little extra to your waffles--berries, nuts, bananas--do so now. When the batter is stirred, you may want to put it into a large pitcher or put some batter into a measuring cup for convenience. Or you can just use a large spoon.

Now, you're ready to cook your waffles! Make sure that your waffle iron is hot; pour batter into the iron and close. This only takes a couple of minutes. Top with syrup, berries, sugar, soybean margarine or even vegan icecream and enjoy!
