Fix a crack in an Asphalt Driveway
Fix a crack in an Asphalt Driveway

This is an easy way to fix a crack in your asphalt driveway. It is so simple anyone can do it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Driveway with a crack
  • Asphalt Sealer
  • Asphalt Crack Repair
  1. Step 1

Then first step to fixing that pesky crack in your asphalt driveway is to clean it out. I did this with a high pressure washer or you can use a garden hose with a sprayer nozzle. After you get it cleaned we need to let it dry.

  2. Step 2

Now we need to determine if the crack is a narrow crack or a crack over 1/2 inch wide (if wide crack go to step 3). If it is a narrow crack you can get a silicone tube of asphalt crack repair and be able to fix it. You just put this in a silicon gun (about $5 at a hardware store) and press it firmly into the crack. Now proceed to step 4.

  3. Step 3

Now that we have a wide crack we need to get some asphalt crack filler to fill in that crack. This is easily applied by following the instructions on the jug that it comes in. You can get this at your local hardware store.

  4. Step 4

Now the last step is to seal the asphalt after the crack filler has dried. You can use a normal asphalt sealer from you local hardware store to accomplish this. You spread it on with a sealer applicator and let it dry. Now your driveway will look as good as new.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have any questions feel free to ask you local hardware store workers as they are often trained in this process
