How to Wrap Black Hair
A wrap is a way to condition and prepare straight black hair at night to be ready to style the next morning. This technique keeps the hair straight and neat. Caring for your hairstyle by wrapping it will extend the life of the style and cut down on the time it takes to get out the door in the morning. There are specific steps you'll need to take to dry wrap black hair. Does this Spark an idea?

Begin the wrapping process. Take your paddle brush and start from the side of your head with the least amount of hair (the parted side), and brush your hair into a wrapping motion until your hair is spun completely around your head. Continue to brush and wrap until all of the hair on your head is completely wrapped around. Pick up the flat bristle brush and give your hair a quick brush around your head so as to allow it to "set" better.

Keep your hair in place while you sleep. Give your hair another quick burst of spray with the oil sheen and conditioning spray. Use bobby pins as needed to keep the wrapped hair from falling down.
Wrap your silk or satin scarf around your head and knot or pin it in place. The material of the scarf is important because you do not want to expose black hair to cotton, as cotton takes the moisture out of hair. Cotton also doesn't glide against black hair as well as satin or silk does, and can cause frizziness.

When you wake up in the morning, all that you will have to do to your hair before you leave for the day is pull off the scarf, pull out the pins and lightly tousle your hair with your fingers into your style.
