Winged eyeliner is timeless, sexy, and quick.

Winged eyeliner is the perfect way to create a glamorous look without using too much product. It also gives the illusion of fuller lashes and bigger eyes!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Always use primer before applying eye makeup! It helps the product stick to your lids better and ensures that the makeup will last all day. For winged eyeliner, use a liquid liner that comes in a pot and a thin, angled brush. Some drugstore brands come with a brush that screws on to the pot and serves as the lid, similar to nail polish - these are a good choice.

  2. Step 2

Start by simply lining your upper eyelid with a thin line from one corner of the eye to the other. Make the line as close to the lashes as possible.

  3. Step 3

Next, look straight into the mirror with your face angled so that your eyelids are about half open. The best way to do this is to just tilt your chin towards the mirror and look yourself in the eye. Right above where your pupil is when you're looking straight ahead is where the wing on your eyeliner will start.

  4. Step 4

Place the brush right above your pupil, on the line you drew earlier. Slowly, but confidently, make a curved line going from this point to the "eye socket" bone just outside the corner of your eye.

  5. Step 5

Connect the corner of the line you just made back to the outer corner of your eye using another curved line. It will look like you have the outline of your winged eyeliner - because that's exactly what you will have!

  6. Step 6

Fill in the empty spot to complete the wing, and you're done! You can go back and thicken up the line for a more dramatic effect, but that's completely optional.

Tips & Warnings
  • The reason this method works is because it uses the natural points of your face, such as your pupil and your eye socket. Your winged eyeliner will look different from someone else's because your face is different from someone else's!
