FIND SAMPLE ACTING RESUME
First you should find a sample acting resume. This way, you will have a better idea of the acting resume format which is different than your normal employment resume. There are a variety of sample resumes you can follow but to start.

WRITE ACTING RESUME
Open up Microsoft word and try to follow the sample template listed above. (If you are good at Microsoft Excel, you can also create your resume in that software.) Depending on how many acting jobs you completed will determine how many rows of information you will have.

FILL OUT TOP SECTION OF ACTING RESUME
The top section is your name, union affiliation (if any), stats and contact information.

LIST ACTING JOBS
The next section includes a list all the jobs you have completed along with the names of the project, your role and who produced it. If you are a new actor, be sure to include and extra work or student films you completed.

LIST ACTING TRAINING AND ACTING CLASSES
The next section is to add any training you have completed. It always looks good to show any formal training you have completed and what the names of the classes you took.

LIST SKILLS
Lastly, include all of your skills. Even skills such as bike riding, roller blading, etc... should be included.

SAVE ACTING RESUME
When you have completed your acting resume, be sure to save it. This way, when you completed more jobs, it will be easy to open the file and add the updated information.

Now that you have completed your acting resume, staple them to the back of your acting headshots and start sending them off to casting directors.
