There are thousands of female hair styles to choose from online and off. You can see them everywhere you go. If you pay close attention you may actually see one you like. If you do then it's a good idea to make note of it. This way you have something to show or tell your stylist. A picture says a thousand words, so if you can get a pic it's even better.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Older styles

The female hair styles of the past used to look almost the same. It seems like nobody wanted to stand out, but instead opted to be look a likes. Nowadays, we still have conservative women who wear the same styles year in and year out.

On the other hand, we also have the outrageous or trendy who want to stand out and not conform. Then we have the ones who want a change, but are scared to change anything. However, there are many factors to consider when choosing a female hair style other than what you like or want.

  2. Step 2
    Major up keep

    Major up keep

One of the most important things you need to consider when choosing a hair style is your personality. Is the hair style you? If not, then you will hate the way you look and it will make you self conscious. Then there's how you dress, a hair style should match your daily overall clothing style.

Another huge factor is up keep. A short cut has to be cut every 4-5 weeks can you keep up? A bleach touch up has to be done every 3-4 weeks and is costly. Can you afford it? You need to ask your stylist about up keep on your style BEFORE you get it! Afterward is too late and you will regret the decision.

  3. Step 3

Female hair styles also have a time factor. How much time do you have to style your hair each day? If you want a hairstyle that's takes 30 minutes to style then you need to have the time to do it. Otherwise, it will not look the way it's supposed to, you will HATE it and have many bad hair days!

Do you want a style just because it looks good on someone else? Don't even go there! Too many factors here such as face shape, weight, age, texture, density, hair growth directions, curly, straight, thick, thin, fine, personal style, defects, scars, wrinkles, forehead, make up, facial features, neck, ears and more.

  4. Step 4
    Simplicity

Hair styling ability is another issue. Can you recreate the hairstyle yourself? This is one reason why many female hair styles look bad. If you want to recreate a hair style you need to know how to do it and as well as have the products to do it.

Obviously, there are many factors to consider when choosing a new hair style. So, next time remember it's not just about what you want.
