How to Make a Clippy
A clippy is a metal hair barrette that snaps over hair to hold it in place. There are many different ways to decorate hair clippies to create unique and attractive hair pieces. With hot glue and ribbons, plain clippies can be transformed into beautiful hair decorations that can be worn by girls of all ages. Things You'll Need
- 3/8-inch wide grosgrain ribbon Hot glue gun and glue sticks Snap clip Crafting wire (22 gauge) Wire cutters Scissors Ruler

Cover the Clip

Plug in the hot glue gun. Open the snap clip.

Place a dot of hot glue onto the snap clip to the underside of the wide end of the clip.

Place the end of the ribbon over the hot glue and hold the ribbon in place until the glue cools.

Place a line of hot glue along the underside of the ribbon. Place the ribbon along the top of the clip and press it down flat to affix it to the clip.

Fold the ribbon over onto the back side of the base of the snap clip and press it firmly into place.
Make a Bow

Cut two 5-inch lengths from the same ribbon.

Cut a 2-inch length of ribbon and wrap it over the wire to conceal the wire. Glue the ribbon in place over the wire on the underside of the bow with hot glue.

Glue the bow to the top of the ribbon covered clippy.
