Instructions

  1. How to Make Oyster Kilpatrick

    • 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F, then line a baking pan with aluminum foil.

    • 2

Pour some rock salt in the baking pan to help the oyster shells to stay level.

    • 3

Fry the bacon on medium heat until done, but not crispy. Sit 2 paper towels on a plate, then place cooked bacon on the towels to dry.

    • 4

Peel the onion, then chop into tiny pieces. Tear or cut cooled bacon into small pieces. Add the onion and bacon in a bowl and mix lightly with your fingers.

    • 5

Rinse the oysters in cold water, then dry them with paper towels. Open the oysters and sit the shell halves with the meat in them in the baking pan.

    • 6

Put the butter, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan to make the Kilpatrick sauce. Heat on medium heat until hot, stirring so the sauce doesn't stick to the pan. Take off the burner and sit aside.

    • 7

Distribute the bacon and onion evenly to each oyster. Pour as little or as much of the Kilpatrick sauce as you want over the top of each oyster.

    • 8

Bake in the oven for 5 minutes and remove. Serve hot. Slice the 2 lemons into wedges and place on each plate.
