1
Use pictures in your instruction. Pictures are used in second language instruction because most people will understand the concept of using a word to represent a picture. Show the person a picture of an object and repeat the word of that object in the language that you are teaching. You can also use pictures to teach the alphabet and vowels.
-
2
Teach with videos. Videos with short scenarios like ordering in a restaurant or meeting a friend can help second language learners.
-
-
3
Use role-playing activities. Once the students have learned the basics of the language using pictures and videos, you can create a simple play and they can act out the parts.
-
4
Teach grammar with workbooks. It is likely that students will learn nouns through pictures and videos, and they may be able to repeat phrases, but they will still need to learn how to read and write the language. Workbooks or textbooks in the students' native language will help them understand the concepts of grammar in a new language. The teacher's guide should be translated into your language.

Teach reading through books. Use picture books if necessary, so the students understand what they are reading. The students should read out loud as much as possible to learn how the written words are pronounced.
