How to Clean a Projection TV
There are two main types of projection TVs. The most common is equipped with a screen protector on top of the projection screen that protects it from dust and fingerprints. The second is not equipped with a protector and you will need to use more caution when cleaning it to avoid damage. But regardless of the type, you can clean a projection TV yourself if the image has become blurry.

1
Check to see what type of screen you have. Lightly touch the screen with your fingertips. If it's smooth it has a screen protector; if it feels slightly bumpy it doesn't.
-
2
Purchase a projection TV cleaner cloth made for unprotected screens from an electronics store and wipe the screen carefully.

Clean a protected screen with water. Dip a soft cloth in warm water and wring out all the excess water until the cloth is just barely damp. Carefully wipe down the screen protector.

Mix one squirt of mild liquid dish detergent in a bowl of warm water if the screen protector has fingerprints. Dip the cloth in this mixture and wring out the excess until it's barely damp, then wipe down the screen.

Tips & Warnings
Wipe in a side-to-side motion to avoid streaking.
Remove watches, rings and wrist jewelry before cleaning to avoid scratching the screen. Never use alcohol or glass cleaner to clean a screen or screen protector as this will cause the plastic to break down over time. Never spray water or cleaner directly onto the screen as it can run into and short out the electrical components.
