Writing with fabric paint is fun and easy. These following technique can be used to create personalized T-shirts or other fabric items. This simple craft is fun for the entire family.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fabric Paint
  • Fabric
  • Stencil
  • Fabric Pencil
  1. Step 1

    First select fabric to be painted.

    NOTE: You should prewash and preshrink your selected fabric.

  2. Step 2

    Next, decide on what you would like to write on your fabric.

    IDEAS include phrases, pictures, and team names.

  3. Step 3

    Mark the center of your fabric with the fabric pencil by folding the fabric in half and placing a small dot.

    NOTE: If you are not centering your drawing, you may chose to skip this step.

  4. Step 4

    Using the stencils and the fabric pencil, center and trace your desired phrase or symbol.

  5. Step 5

    Slowly squeeze fabric paint over the outline you have just drawn. If you allow the paint to dry it is easier to fill in the objects you have traced.

  6. Step 6

    Allow paint to dry thoroughly before attempting to wash, wear, or use the fabric.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is recomended to paint outside and use a protective barrier such as newspaper to protect furniture.
  • Remember to supervise children.
