Colorful, multilayered wraps can be bought at kiosks in malls, souvenir shops in tropical locations and even in thrift stores, where they were donated by people who brought them home and realized they had no idea how to wear them. Read on and find at least one way to pull it off.

How to turn your wrap into a dress

1. Place center of wrap in the front of your body with the ends in each hand. Wrap around your waist as if you are making a skirt, with the shorter layer on the outside.

2. Put one strap through the loophole in the skirt. Wrap the straps around your waist and tie.

3. Lift the front layer by the ends. Take them behind your back, lifting the layer to cover your torso like a strapless top.

4. Tie the ends behind your back. They may fall a bit low, but make sure to tie them tightly enough so the top is snug under your arms. You don't want it slipping!

Tips & Warnings

• You'll definitely want to wear a thin tank under the top. The knot has a tendency to need adjustments if it isn't tied tightly enough.
