Things You'll Need:
- Research the following:
- pet
- dog
- pet sitting
- dog walking
-
Step 1
Step 1) Make a great brochure for your pet sitting/dog walking business that appeals to your clientele. In this business of pet sitting and dog walking, you don't want to come across as being overly serious because pet sitting and dog walking is not a serious business. For Example, "Uncle Tommy would like to walk your dog :)". Make Yourself a member of the family.
-
Step 2
Step 2) List your pet sitting/dog walking credentials on the brochures. Are you a mother of 3? Member of the PTA? Cub Scout Leader? These are all great assets that make a potential feel as if you are a member of the family--of the community--and that you can be trusted for taking care of their pet. In your credentials, list what kind of services you perform to which kind of animals. This is crucial.
-
Step 3
Step 3) Start marketing. Pet Sitting and Dog Walking is a business you can market very cheaply. I would recommend getting 5,000 flyers made up and walking around in affluent neighborhoods to put on mailbox latches or as door hangers. Posting signs up on community bulletin boards in pediatrician offices, dental offices, and at the laundromat are also good places. Be creative! Make it fun!
