How to Use a Netgear WGT624

Share your DSL or cable connection with both wired and wireless connections. The Netgear WGT624 comes with four Ethernet ports for wired connections and about four times the wireless coverage of wireless G routers for your wireless devices. And setting up your Netgear WGT624 won't take you long at all. Find out just how quick and easy it is to set up and use your WGT624.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Router Ethernet cable Resource CD
  1. Step 1

    Place your WGT624 in a well ventilated area, near your computer, modem and a power outlet.

  2. Step 2

    Run an Ethernet cable from the "WAN" on the router---located next to the immediate left of the antenna---to the port labeled "Internet" on the back of your modem.

  3. Step 3

    Run a second Ethernet cable from the four "LAN" ports on the back of the router, to the Ethernet port on your computer's Ethernet card.

  4. Step 4

    Connect the tip of the 12 VDC power adapter to the power port on the back of the router, and plug the transformer end of the adapter into a power outlet.

  5. Step 5

    Insert the Resource CD into your computer's CD/DVD-ROM drive. After the disk auto-runs and presents a menu screen, choose the option labeled "Setup." Follow the onscreen prompts to configure your router.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a pin to press the reset button on the back of the router---often a simple reset will restore a lost or stalled connection.
