Mustard oil is made out of mustard seeds, either by pressing the seeds or cooking the seeds in hot oil. Mustard oil is used in Indian cooking, added as a flavoring to vegetables and meats, and as a base flavor to curries. Potatoes are an excellent vehicle to carry the spicy and peppery flavor of mustard oil.
