Aniline leather is dyed in order to show off its natural characteristics with no other coloring added. A beautiful leather, it is also one of the most delicate, requiring much care and attention. If your aniline leather has become stained, don't panic. Follow these steps to restore it to rights.
Things You'll Need
- Aniline leather Leather cleaner Leather degreaser Leather moisturizer Sponges and towels Blow dryer
Apply a water-based leather cleaner to a sponge and rub your aniline leather item using a circular motion.
Wipe off excess dirt with a towel. At the same time, dry each area using a blow dryer.
Check your aniline leather to see if there are any spots you have missed, going back over them if necessary. Areas that are heavily soiled may require a leather degreaser in order to remove oily buildup.
Use a leather protection cream on your aniline leather to guard against future spills and stains. Again, have your blow dryer ready and dry each part as you go.
If there are any severely dry sections of your item, apply a leather moisturizer and leave it to set overnight.
