Step 1
First, you need to remove the blood stain before it sets. If you don't, you will not be able to remove the blood stain at all. After you have discovered blood on your clothing you need to get the area with blood wet immediately. Make sure to use cold water!
-
Step 2
After you have the clothing wet, apply soap to the blood stained area. You can also use shampoo if you do not have soap nearby. Rub the soap or shampoo into the fabric with your fingers or a brush.
-
Step 3
Work up a good lather with the soap or shampoo. Apply water while you are scrubbing the blood stained area to help wash away the blood that is being removed.
-
Step 4
Rinse the clothing in cold water only. After rinsing, repeat the process if the blood stain is still present. Do so until the stain is almost completely removed. If the stain will not go away, pour ammonia onto the clothing. Ammonia will not harm the clothing and should remove the blood stain.
