Even though you can download a file like Limewire to a hard drive, you can also transfer it to a flash drive. Flash drives are small, portable devices that plug into a USB port. After inserting the flash drive into a USB port, a drive is assigned to it, and it is found just like a regular hard drive on your computer. Using Firefox, Limewire is downloaded and transferred to the flash drive so the software can be installed on another computer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plug the flash drive into a USB port. A drive letter is assigned to it when the computer loads the device.

  2. Step 2

Download Limewire. Limewire.com has the executable necessary to install the application on a computer. Go to the site and click the "Get Basic" button. This prompts you to download the file.

  3. Step 3

Navigate to the desktop. This is the default place where Firefox downloads executable files.

  4. Step 4

Right-click the limewirewin.exe file and select "Cut."

  5. Step 5

Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop.

  6. Step 6

Right-click the letter assigned to the flash drive. Select "Paste" from the menu. This copies Limewire from the desktop, and transfers it to the flash drive.
