How to Download Limewire to a Flash Drive

Even though you can download a file like Limewire to a hard drive, you can also transfer it to a flash drive. Flash drives are small, portable devices that plug into a USB port. After inserting the flash drive into a USB port, a drive is assigned to it, and it is found just like a regular hard drive on your computer. Using Firefox, Limewire is downloaded and transferred to the flash drive so the software can be installed on another computer.

Instructions

1. Plug the flash drive into a USB port. A drive letter is assigned to it when the computer loads the device.

2. Download Limewire. Limewire.com has the executable necessary to install the application on a computer. Go to the site and click the "Get Basic" button. This prompts you to download the file.

3. Navigate to the desktop. This is the default place where Firefox downloads executable files.

4. Right-click the limewirewin.exe file and select "Cut."

5. Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop.

6. Right-click the letter assigned to the flash drive. Select "Paste" from the menu. This copies Limewire from the desktop, and transfers it to the flash drive.
