2. Mix the correctly measured dose of Kaopectate in four to eight ounces of fruit juice or milk. This will prevent the Kaopectate from irritating your throat and help to disguise its notoriously bitter taste.

3. Follow the juice with an 8-ounce glass of water. The Kaopectate will begin to soften stool within one to three days. Continue to take the recommended dose every night until it takes effect. However, do not use Kaopectate for more than one week unless your doctor recommends it.
