Step 1
Go to www.americanexpress.com. Click "Create an Account" on the left side of the page. Click "Continue" on the following page.

Enter your 15-digit card number and the four-digit security code. Click continue.

Enter your name, address and bank account information from which money will be deducted to pay your American Express bill online. Create a user name and unique password that will allow you to sign in to pay your bill.

Customize your account to pay your bill automatically by deducting directly from a checking or savings account each month. You can pay the minimum or full amount due each month or post your statement online to your email account.

Verify account set up through the confirmation email sent to your account.

If you did not set up your account to automatically pay your balance or minimum payment due each month, enter the American Express site and sign in with your user name and password when your online statement arrives. Make your desired payment and click submit.
