      Mix equal parts water and white vinegar. For one pair of shoes, a third of a cup of each should be plenty.

      Dip a soft cloth into the vinegar and water solution. Wring out the excess liquid so that the cloth is wet, but not soaking.

      Rub the cloth over the salt stains on the shoes. The vinegar solution should take the stains off very quickly. Dip the cloth into the vinegar solution again if needed to reapply.

      Set the damp shoes in a dry area to dry overnight before wearing them again. This stain removal method can be used repeatedly throughout the winter season as needed.
