You are newly engaged! Congratulations! It is now time to tell your friends and family that you are engaged! Follow these steps to announce your engagement to everyone!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure before you announce anything that this is the real deal. Sometimes people get "engaged" but it is more of an idea than something that will actually happen. Make sure that you and the person you are engaged to are very serious about the engagement before you spill the beans to the whole world.

  2. Step 2

Arrange a get together with your closest family and friends. This could be a party, barbecue, or dinner at a restaurant. The point is to get as many as your loved ones together in the same place at the same time.

  3. Step 3

At the beginning of the get together, get everyone's attention and make the big announcement! This way, the majority of the people that matter will hear the good news directly from you, and at one time. That sure beats repeating the engagement news 100 times!

  4. Step 4

Rely on word of mouth to spread the news of your engagement around town.

  5. Step 5

Send a mass email or Facebook announcement to friends and family who were unable to attend your get together.

  6. Step 6

Prepare yourself for lots of questions about the engagement, wedding, and future plans. Get used to people asking to see the ring and generally being nosey.

on 11/17/2009 Another great source for creating engagement announcements is www.Amigram.com. People appreciate the opportunity to share their good news without having to let all their relatives and parents’ friends onto their Facebook page, pay for a newspaper listing, or create a website.

Of course, they can also send their announcement to Facebook and Twitter, if they want to spread the news; or if they want to keep their announcement private, they can restrict it so only friends and family see it.
