Things You'll Need:
- a mixing bowl
- kitty litter
- cat treats
- cat nip
- plastic rap
-
Step 1
You have to start at a very young age to teach your cat how to use the toilet or your cat will most likely not learn how to use it.
-
Step 2
Start out by keeping the kitty litter box in the bathroom for about two weeks to get your cat used to going into the bathroom.
-
Step 3
Put the old kitty litter box away so that the cat cannot use it.
-
Step 4
Put a small amount of kitty litter and cat nip in the mixing bowl. Place the bowl into the toilet. Clean the kitty litter out once a day and put fresh cat nip into the bowl.
-
Step 5
Put your cat into the mixing bowl so that he/she knows where the litter is.
-
Step 6
Place your cat into the bathroom over night and close the door, to encourage your cat to use the mixing bowl.
-
Step 7
keep doing that for about two weeks or until your cat gets used to using the bowl. Make sure your cat is not using the floor or the tub for their bathroom at all. If your cat is using the bathroom other then the bowl then continue to place your cat into the bowl over and over again until the cat gets it.
-
Step 8
After the cat uses the bowl by itself, place some plastic rap over the toilet bowl and put a small amount of kitty litter and cat nip into the middle of the plastic rap. Put some treats around the toilet bowl as well.
-
Step 9
Put less and less kitty litter every so often, then in a few days remove the plastic rap and your kitty should be using the toilet all by their self. It takes some time, but it is well worth it in the end.
good luck!
