Save more money and help the environment!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start by unplugging certain items that you don't use constantly. Some of these items include lamps, cell phone chargers, mp3 chargers, kitchen appliances, etc... Once you are finished using them, unplug it. The outlet thinks that the item is still working even if nothing is being used. The outlets cause the most amount of lost money.

  2. Step 2

Next, turn your temperature 2 degrees up in the summer and 2 degrees lower in the winter. Although this seems contradictory, it works. It will use the a/c and heater that much less and will subtly change your overall payment.

  3. Step 3

Finally, change all your lightbulbs from the old flourescent ones over to the new environmentally friendly "squiggly" ones. These new light bulbs use 4x's less watts than a normal lightbulb. With less watts and the same amount of light, the choice to change is easy.

  4. Step 4

Change these three items and watch the money pile up. It saves you many dollars on each months bill and helps the environment. It is honestly a win win situation.
