With summer approaching, follow these steps to avoiding a serious sickness or heat stroke due to spending to much time in the sun.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Drink lots of water. Generally water is to be drank 30 minutes before you are going to be physically active or outside for a long time. Most other beverages including those with lots of sugar or lots of caffiene will actually dehydrate you by taking water out of your cells.

  2. Step 2

Get lots of potassium. Potassium can be found in fruits and vegetables, like bananas, for exzmple. This helps keep water in your cells for a longer period of time and are also healthy for you. Other fruits also are good to eat because they are full of water and are healthy for you.

  3. Step 3

Get used to the sun and take lots of breaks. To avoid sun exhaustion you will have to first get used to the weather instead of all at once. If you start feeling hot, it is time to take a break. You will eventually get more used to it and will not feel as bad after a longer period of time.
