Things You'll Need:
- Blog Talk Radio account and show
- Computer
- 1 Hour
-
Step 1
Develop a theme and goal for your show. Whether you want to share your passion for antique collecting or your business insight, you need a focus or the show won't develop a following. Type up an action plan on the computer and start by listing your show's theme and goals.
-
Step 2
Next, determine what day of the week you'll host your show. Keep a consistent schedule so listeners can find you online. Remember, shows are recorded. Listeners can always download the MP3 files later.
-
Step 3
Write a basic script and have it on your computer or printed out in front of you. A basic script includes an introduction: your name, the date and time of the show, the name of the show, and a few personal remarks. Then you will introduce your guest.
-
Step 4
When interviewing guests, write up questions before the show. You can deviate from the scripted questions, but they provide focus for the conversation and new ideas should the conversation start to lag.
-
Step 5
Pause every ten minutes and repeat the day, time and call in telephone number for listeners to dial in live. You want to repeat the day and time of the recording so that people listening later will know that they will not be able to call in live. Remember, your listeners may be listening late at night or at another time.
-
Step 6
End the show by repeating your basic contact information. Remember to plug or promote your next show! Use the free blog on the Blog Talk Radio website to summarize your show. And promote your show - post links to Twitter, Facebook and more to gain listeners.
