An amazing acupressure technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) can take cravings away in minutes. Whether it is cigarettes, beer, donuts or chocolate, just touching or tapping a few energy points on the face and upper body allows the urge to disappear effortlessly. Most people who have used EFT to combat cravings report a loss of desire that lasts for hours, days or longer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    1. As you think of what you are craving, get in touch with how intense that feeling is. Rate the "gotta have it" feeling on a scale of zero to ten. Ten means that you don't think you can resist much longer. Zero means you have no interest in eating, drinking or using it.

  2. Step 2

    2. Tap on the edge of either hand along the side below the little finger for about 30 seconds. As you tap, think about how much you want this food, drink or other no-no. You can even say or think, "I want this so much that I don't think I can put it off" or "Even though I said I wouldn't have this again, I'll just do it this once."

  3. Step 3

    3. Using your index and middle fingers, gently tap ten times on each of these energy points: on the edge of your eyebrow near the nose, the outside edge of your eye socket, under the lower lid of your eye, under your nose, under your lower lip, under your collarbone and four inches under your armpit on the side of your body.

  4. Step 4

    4. Take a deep breath and let it out. Ask yourself how strong your craving is now from zero to ten. If it is not at zero yet, keep repeating steps #2 and #3 until you reach zero. You will now be able to discard the rest of the food, drink, drug without regret. If you can't, keep tapping.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the craving challenge with all other urges you can't control: cigarettes, alcohol, shopping, computer games, or other self defeating habits. Have fun while you improve your health.
