Step 1
Although, not the most natural the most productive way to reduce signs of age spots is to use a cream with a 2% solution of a bleaching agent called hydroquinone. If darker spots are present a prescription cream containing a higher dose may be needed. For this you must visit a dermatologist. Creams that contain retinol or topical Vitamin A can also be helpful.
-
Step 2
A more natural solution for the lighter age spots is to add a little fresh lemon juice to age spots once a day. This may take a couple months to see results.
-
Step 3
For a mask to reduce signs of age spots, you can use a mixture of honey and yogurt. Mix one teaspoon of plain yogurt and one teaspoon of honey. Apply mixture to face and let set for about thirty minutes, then rinse. Do this one a day for a month.
-
Step 4
If you have a Aloe Vera plant you can also use the gel like substance found in the leaves to reduce signs of age spots. Just break open the stem, apply the gel to spots once or twice a day.
-
Step 5
Something my grandma taught me is to use buttermilk. Just dab buttermilk on skin and let dry for about thirty minutes, then wash off.
-
Step 6
To avoid age spots getting darker and spreading remember sunscreen is the key to prevention.
